FAQ

A little help for your next catch.

Playing and scoring

How does Candle Rain work?

Catch candles driven by live BTC/USDT market data. Single Round starts at 60 seconds; Three Rounds plays three arenas and adds their scores.

How are points calculated?

Green is +3 and red is −2. Big multiplies green and red points by 3; Mini multiplies them by 10. Every 4 regular gray candles earn +1, rounded down separately for each round. Each Magnet pickup adds +5.

How can I earn extra time?

Catch 10 gray candles in a row for +5 seconds, up to twice per round. Each round can last at most 70 seconds; Three Rounds can last at most 210 seconds.

Are characters and arenas random?

New game setups choose a random character and arena without immediately repeating the previous selections. You can still choose both manually. Normal Three Rounds games use your selected arena first, then two random standard arenas without repeats. A competition code may assign custom arenas, a fixed round order, or a preset character.

What does Play again keep?

Play again keeps your character, mode, and competition code. Single Round also keeps the arena; normal Three Rounds chooses new arenas. Competition settings are checked again for each new game, including Play again, so a code may apply its assigned setup. Use Menu to return to game settings.

What happens if live data disconnects?

During a detected disconnection, gameplay and its timer freeze. If data returns within 15 seconds, a 3–2–1 countdown resumes play. Otherwise, retry with a new game; the unfinished run is not saved. Failed uploads of finished games can be retried.

How do I read the score breakdown?

Your end-of-game breakdown button cycles through the summary, calculations, and main result. Shared result links show per-round calculations inside the scrollable Game result box. Older results may lack detailed candle counts.

Why does the message above my score change?

It changes with your score and game mode. It is a fun message, separate from your rank and achievements.

Accounts and profiles

Do I need an account?

No. Guests can play with an unclaimed username. Create an account to reserve your name and become eligible for achievement titles and banners.

How do I create an account or log in?

Choose Play with account → Create account. Usernames use 3–16 letters, numbers, or underscores. Save the private login key shown once. To return, choose Log in and enter that key; no email or password is required.

Why do I see Too many attempts?

Account creation allows up to 5 attempts per hour from the same IP address. Several people sharing a connection can use that limit together. Wait for the hourly limit to reset before trying again.

Can someone else use my username?

Registered usernames are reserved and are not case-sensitive. Guests can share an unclaimed name. Creating a new account starts fresh progress; earlier guest games do not transfer.

What if I lose my login key?

Keep a private backup. The key is shown only at account creation, and anyone with it can access your account. Losing it may mean losing access. Never publish it as verification proof.

How do public profiles work?

Click a username in Leaderboard or Recent Games, or open /user/USERNAME on the game domain. The game opens with that player’s profile. Signed-in players can edit their bio and choose an unlocked appearance in Profile settings, then Apply.

What do Guest tags and checkmarks mean?

Guest marks an unregistered username. The gold Bitcointalk and black X checkmarks mean ownership of those external accounts was verified. Registration and external verification are separate.

How do I verify Bitcointalk or X?

Log in, open Profile settings, and choose Verify. Generate a public code, publish it as instructed, paste the proof link, and submit. The verification card scrolls when needed. You can remove the public code after verification.

Which verification links are accepted?

Bitcointalk: your public profile field or the unquoted text of your own post; use the profile link or exact post link. Quotes, other people’s posts, and signatures on a post page do not count. X: your public post containing the code. Your forum username or X @handle must match your game username; an X display name is not enough.

Ranks and achievements

How are ranks earned?

Ranks use completed games successfully saved to your profile. Single Round and Three Rounds each count as one game. New accounts count games saved after registration.

What are the seven ranks?
GamesRank
0–9Newbie
10–49Candle Catcher
50–99Candle Hunter
100–249Candle Expert
250–499Candle Master
500–999Candle Hero
1,000+Candle Legend
Who can earn achievement titles?

Registered accounts only. Automatic achievements require results saved after the account was created. Guest records do not award titles.

How does ATH Record Breaker work?

It follows the current Global all-time record in Single Round and Three Rounds, separately. One account can hold both. When a higher score replaces a record, its previous holder loses the title unless they still hold the other mode’s record. Matching the record does not replace its holder.

How is Weekly Champion ×N counted?

It counts eligible Global weekly wins in completed UTC weeks, separately for each mode. Winning both modes in the same week counts as two wins. The current week counts only after it ends. The title remains after that week; the creator can also grant or correct a weekly count.

What are Genesis Legend and Golden Angel?

Genesis Legend recognizes early supporters; Golden Angel recognizes supporters selected by the creator. These titles are assigned to registered accounts by the creator. A donation does not automatically activate a title.

How do I activate or hide a banner?

Choose an unlocked appearance in Profile settings, then Apply. Choose Default to hide it. Without a saved choice, the first available achievement is shown automatically. Losing an achievement removes that appearance; your other achievements remain available.

Community and Data

What does the Data page show?

Data shows last week’s Global champions, recent milestones, all-time standouts, game totals, and weekly leaderboard history. Figures come from saved database records, including guest results where eligible.

Who appears as last week’s champion?

The highest Global score in the previous completed UTC week, separately for Single Round and Three Rounds. The current week is not included. A guest can top the leaderboard, but automatic achievement titles require an eligible registered account.

How are highest averages calculated?

Add a username’s eligible saved scores in one mode and divide by its saved game count in that mode. At least 10 games in that mode are required. The displayed average is rounded to one decimal; the unrounded average determines the leader. If nobody qualifies, the page shows no eligible player.

What counts as recent activity?

New personal bests, all-time records, weekly lead changes, rank milestones, new accounts, and successful X or Bitcointalk verifications. Up to 20 recent milestones are shown. A run that triggers several milestones appears once, with record or rank changes taking priority. Activity is reconstructed from current saved records and can change if those records change.

Does a standout or activity mention award a title?

No. Highest average and most games are recognition on Data, not new achievement titles. Existing ATH Record Breaker and Weekly Champion rules still apply. Guests can appear in score statistics without earning titles.

How are tied standouts decided?

All-time high scores favor the earliest saved result. Weekly winners favor alphabetical username order, then the earliest saved result. Equal averages, game counts, and weekly-win counts favor alphabetical username order. Ties do not split the displayed standout.

Are the Data totals unique people or created competitions?

No. Unique usernames count names used in saved games, not verified people. Registered accounts count created accounts. Competition codes used count distinct codes found in saved games, not every code configured by the creator. One finished Three Rounds run counts as one game.

How quickly does Data update?

Reload Data to see newer records. Community figures can be briefly cached, so a newly saved result may not appear immediately. All displayed weekly date ranges use UTC.

Results and competitions

What is saved when I finish a game?

A finished run counts only after its result is saved. It receives a Run ID. Unfinished runs and failed uploads do not count until successfully saved.

What can people see through a result link?

The saved username, score, mode, duration, competition code, save time in UTC, and Run ID. Detailed results also show per-round calculations. The timestamp is when the server saved the result, not when play began.

How do I play after opening a result link?

Choose Challenge accepted! to open game settings. You can also close the result box and press Play. Neither action starts a round until you press Play in the game menu.

Does a Run ID prove who played?

It identifies a saved result, not the player’s identity or account access. Anyone with its link can share it. Follow the organizer’s rules for verification, submissions, and private prize claims.

Which competition codes are allowed?

Use 1–24 letters or numbers, with no spaces or symbols. Codes are not case-sensitive. Leave the field blank for Global only; games with a code also appear on Global leaderboards.

Why are my arena or character choices locked?

Some competition codes require an assigned arena or character. Locked choices cannot be changed. Codes with unlocked presets let you choose another setup.

How do sponsor arenas and competition schedules work?

Custom sponsor arenas are available through their assigned codes. Presets apply only while enabled and within their configured schedule. Outside that period, the code uses normal game settings; the code can still record leaderboard scores. Event eligibility and prizes follow the organizer’s rules.

Does entering a code guarantee a prize?

No. Check the organizer’s dates, required mode, eligibility, and submission instructions. A saved score or leaderboard position alone does not guarantee a prize.

Can my brand have a custom arena or competition?

Yes. Contact the creator to discuss a branded arena, a dedicated competition code, and event arrangements.

How do I submit a competition result?

Enter the organizer’s code before starting. After the score is saved, copy Share link and submit it as instructed. The code, mode, save time, and any account verification must meet that event’s rules.

How do the leaderboards work?

Each board shows the highest score per username for its mode, period, and code. Single Round and Three Rounds are separate. Recent Games lists individual runs, so usernames can repeat.

When do weekly scores reset?

Monday at 00:00 UTC. Weekly shows the current week; old results remain in All Time and History. Last week’s champions on Data are the Global winners of the most recently completed UTC week.

How can I find past competition scores?

In History, choose Competition, enter the code, then select the week and mode. History is calculated from saved scores; prize decisions follow the organizer’s rules.

Why can Data totals differ from account progress?

Data summarizes saved historical results and usernames, including guest games. Account progress and achievements apply registration rules. A unique username is not necessarily a unique person.
